Howdy y’all!
There are two things that need saying in the post.
FIRST, welcome to a new sometimes, frequent, but erratically posted column here at Ye Olde Blogge. It is meant to be a super short post to invite people to discuss a topic in the comments. In short, I miss being on Twitter and have not taken to any of the alternatives. That in and of itself is a Comment on This post.
SECOND, I LOVED the featured image used in the A Likable Anger: Biden’s Response to the Hur Report Ageist Slur Against Him post. I’ve been using AI to generate images for most of my posts lately. It has been fun to fiddle around with the free resources out there. Of course, I added the text because image AI can’t text well. What the fuck is wrong with an AI image generator that can’t copy and paste the words you ask it to into the image? Anywho, that’s ANOTHER Comment on This post.
Also, the whole Biden-memory thing is just ageism. Everyone slows down as they age, but we are all on different glide paths. Old Joe has taken pretty good care of himself. We’ve talked about that a lot on the other post, though.
I like the image so much, that I’d love to hear your comments on it, in the comments.

It still cracks me up. I hope it does you, too.

Both Biden and Trump are too old. Don’t look at the now, look at the end of the next Presidential term. What is far, far worse, they are both locked into old world thinking.
If the money currently being spent on supporting the wars in the Ukraine and Palestine, was spent on improving the standard of life for Americans, think of the benefits.

Howdy Jon!
When have the Republicans ever been willing to spend any amount of money on improving the standard of life for Americans? The 1950’s under Eisenhower when the corporate tax rate was 90%, that’s when.
The fact is, money is not a problem in America. We have enough money to spend to meet all of our needs both foreign and domestic. Money is the excuse Republicans use to limit spending on improving the standard of living for Americans. Money is the excuse Republicans use to cut taxes to the ultra wealthy so that even more of the earnings of the middle class flow to them.
We can afford to fund Ukraine and Palestine as well as our domestic programs if Republicans would quit obstructing and start governing, we would.
Neither Trump nor Biden are too old. Biden has been the most consequential president since FDR. He’s restructured the economy so that it is more favorable to the middle class. It is why we’re having a soft landing from our recession threat and real wages are increasing and unemployment has decreased. Trump is locked into thinking only about himself because he is a textbook unproductive malignant narcissist.

I love the image. I’m wishing I had copied a meme I saw just last week on FaceBook, a list of musicians over 70 year old and still performing. Willie Nelson topped the list at 91. So, the question really is, “Who is too old for what?” As I recall, Arturo Toscanini conducted his last performance at just short of 100. Then there was the recent passing of Henry Kissinger at similar age, still giving evil advice to worshipful politicians.
I’ve been thinking about that claim in the Hur report that Joe didn’t remember the date his son died. I suspect that the transcript will show that that question was popped into a series of relevant questions about documents and packing up offices and such. It would have been an irrelevant question in that context, designed to mess with working memory focused on completely different subjects, actions, times, places, and contexts. The purpose would be to elicit a confused response, even an incredulous response. Even more so with someone working at being very careful and precise so as to avoid any purjery trap.
Since you mentioned that men are allowed to be righteously angry, but women are generally not, There is one exception for women. That is “Mama Bear Mode” in defense of someone who is effectively family. VP Harris and Jill Biden both have done a very good job of that, and both are in a far better position to know Joe’s mental state than Mr. Hur.

I’m rolling up on seventy ~ just got back from an early morning five mile walk, did five hundred walking jacks (jumping jacks but … walking), three hundred inclined pushups in various handholds and a hundred free-swinging pullups with twenty pounds of walking weight: two and a half wrist and ankle, ten torso … in one hundred minutes

Age isn’t a good indicator of capability. It correlates with decline, but it still has a bell curve. Biden is clearly on the leading edge of the curve.
AI can be fun and useful if you use it well. It can be abused very easily, though.

In response to both Ten Bears and Bobcab,, yes, years are not the factor, but what they say is. The utterings of both Biden and Trump over the last few months, border on senility.
Now add another Presidential term, plus the pressure that goes with it and you have trouble big time.
There are around 332 million Americans and these two are the best you can come up with?

Biden is not bordering on senility. You’re watching too much of the conservative news coverage.

Calico, I have never said “Biden is bordering on senility”, please don’t miss-quote me. What I did say, very clearly, is both of their comments border on senility and they do.
The reality is both Biden and Trump are a liability, to both America and the world and all the time you fight amongst yourselves nothing will improve.

Look, Jon, I do not suffer trolls on this blog.
I believe I copied and pasted this from your comment on 15 February 2024 at 7:48 AM, “The utterings of both Biden and Trump over the last few months, border on senility.”
There is no fight amongst ourselves. America is pretty united for democracy and defending our rights against Republican incursions. Look at the special elections since 2022. You’re paying way too much attention to conservative media.

Calico, I don’t “troll” and never have. So don’t take two or three words out of a sentence and use that as a quote.
Try addressing the issue at hand, two old men, fighting for a divided nations vote! Can it get any worse?

I don’t see you addressing any issue. You make statements of opinion as fact without offering any real evidence for it. That’s the standard for commenting on this blog. You are not meeting it.
Classic trolling move, “Calico, I don’t “troll” and never have. So don’t take two or three words out of a sentence and use that as a quote.”

Calico, you disappoint me, why won’t you see the truth. Democrat or Republican, it matters not, both are one eyed

What truth are you talking about? You’ve offered no evidence to support any claim that you’ve made.
Back in the winter of 2018 there was a panic about Trump having dementia and all of the armchair neurologist had him diagnosed. I wrote this blog post in response, A Quickie: Is It A Demented Ol’ Pussy Grabber? (https://wp.me/p7vabV-5fH). In the spring of 2020, it made the rounds again, and I wrote, America’s Favorite Parlor Game: Diagnosing Trump, the Dementia, edition (https://wp.me/p7vabV-6mJ).
I believe in evidence and developing well-supported arguments and using what we know to make justifiable predictions. That is the raison d’être for the blog. Every post is well researched. My evidence is cited from credible sources. I expect the same from my commenters.
Give me something to support a contention that you’re making. Evidently, you don’t think Biden is bordering on senility, but you also don’t think he is the best that America has to offer. Give me evidence as to why, and I’ll listen and evaluate it just like I do with every commenter and every blog post.
I look back through this commenting thread and your comment history, you don’t offer anything even remotely resembling evidence. What has Biden said or done that indicates that he is anything other than an 80 year old man who is in good mental and physical condition? In my blog posts, I cite evidence and the opinion of neurologists that have come to the conclusion that he suffers no unusual age-related memory decline. See my blog post, A Likable Anger: Biden’s Response to the Hur Report Ageist Slur Against Him (https://wp.me/p7vabV-ceG) for that evidence and those references.
I don’t know what else to tell you. Give me something other than “why won’t you see the truth. [sic]” and I’ll respond to it. Otherwise, we’re done.

Calico, it is not for me to comment on how others read the mouthing’s of Biden and Trump, suffice to say they are not rational!
So back to my question, are these two the best America can offer the world?

Biden has been the most accomplished president since FDR, so yeah, he’s a pretty fucking good offer to the world. Full stop. Enough said.
We are now in the repeating ourselves cycle of troll-baiting. Back to actual supported arguments or I’m just not approving your comments any more.
