Howdy y’all!

Programming update here. In five and a half hours — it is 9:30 AM in Phnom Penh as of this writing — we will be winging our way off to Zurich and later by train to Tuscany! There, we will be cosplaying 19th century British poets for as we summer in a villa in the rolling hills outside of Tuscany.

I’ve got two weeks of Mary Shelley costumes prepared! I’ve re-watched the Dr Who episode The Haunting of Villa Diodati and re-read the Tim Powers novel The Stress of Her Regard, so I’m feeling particularly ready to “write” Frankenstein during our stay.

Ma Belle Femme is doing Percy Shelley and La Petite Fille Lord Byron. It’s going to be a summer to remember!

However, since it is going to involve travel it’s going to necessitate some disruption in my already irregular routine of posting. We are scheduled to take a train from Zurich to Florence on the ONLY day that the Italian rail workers are going to be on strike, for example. Luckily, Ma Belle Femme is the nervous sort and we’ve booked plane tickets. Don’t worry, though, we’ll get a refund for the train tickets, so it will only be marginally more expensive. Then, we’ll be cosplaying for two weeks and Ma Belle Femme has all sorts of “fun” planned for us in the hills of Tuscany. On the return leg, we’ll take the scenic train back to Zurich to view the Alps and Swiss Alpine villages. And, to conclude, we’ll spend a week in Zurich sampling chocolate and dunkeles beer.

All of this means, I’ll be leaving the trusty old school-issued computer behind and working primarily from my beloved Kindle Fire! I’ve gotten a top-notch portable keyboard waiting in Florence, so I’ll be using the virtual keyboard on the screen until then. Things are going to be tough until we reach the villa on or about Thursday the 13th. Even then, the Fire doesn’t handle images the same so I may not have my murky tangentially related featured images.

Anywho. Tell us about your summer plans and adventures in the comments, we’d love to discuss.

Until I post again.

HUZZAH!
Jack
