Ye Olde Blogge keeps up with the news, but the news doesn’t always keep up with us. There is a lot happening in Trump’s America and around the world, and it is difficult to say everything that you want to say about it all, and even more difficult to be as snarky, sarcasticky, and profaney as it all warrants. Now that my immigration ordeal has eased somewhat, we can launch a new irregular feature to concerning news that is worthy of being emphasized and amplified.
ICE Says…
There was another ICE shooting in the course of an apprehension. Of course, the ICE agents involved say that they the person they shot had “weaponized” their vehicle and tried to run them over with it, so they had to shoot them.
Sure, that could’ve happened. Of course, it might not have. That’s the problem with lying so much, breaking laws, and violating civil. and human rights is that you shouldn’t and can’t believe anything they say.
Read the story here, and judge for yourself.

Christmas Deportations
The Catholic bishops of Florida got together and asked Trump to pause his immigration enforcement action during Christmas because reasons. Kinda like the Christmas truce in World War I. You know, so families, friends, and neighbors could spend Christmas together without worrying about being abducted, beaten, tortured, raped, murdered, or all of them during Christmas, peace on Earth and goodwill towards all people and all that jazz.
Predictably, Trump said, Nah, because America is a Christian nation and refugees seeking protection and aide are just takers trying to subvert our Christian values. We were founded on the teachings and life of Christ and by golly we’re going to continue on in that. way.

Student Loans
Famously, Biden took pity on the millions of people who were conned into taking out huge student loans so that lenders could make bank off of their education and keep them financially crippled for most of their lives and living like indentured servants to the Epstein class and cancelled their loans, kept their loans out of repayment status, or kept defaulters out. of default status because compassion.
Trump, ever the champion of the rich and entitled, has decided to rip those protections away just in time for the new year. His administration will begin garnishing wages of individuals who are in default in the new year because financial responsibility or some such bullshit.
Insurance premiums are way up, prices keep increases, and now wage garnishments for millions. Trump’s America, everybody. Trump’s America.

Cuts to Autism Care
One of the casualties of the trillion dollar cut to Medicaid is the support for families with autistic children, which has driven states to find places to find savings. Of course, these burdens fall disproportionately to those who can least afford them as our Christian heritage dictates they must. God, after all, shows His love by how much wealth you have here on Earth. Why should a nation help those that God so clearly hates?
As those costs begin to bite across the various states, vulnerable families are beginning to feel the pain.
I was very angry that my family had to file bankruptcy in order to provide our son with something that every doctor that he saw recommended. No family should have to choose between bankruptcy and helping their child.
That is, unless cruelty and eugenics are the point, right RFK, Jr?
Read all about it.
It’s the ‘gold standard’ in autism care. Why are states reining it in?

Gaza family getting medical care in Winnipeg adjusts to life in city
A Palestinian family with extraordinary medical needs was caught up in the Israeli genocide of Gaza. As they struggled to keep their family and lives together, they watched as one of their children suffered not only from the hunger and deprivation they all faced, but a severe, yet unnamed, illness, too.
The Canadian Special Measures program brought their plight to the awareness of the provincial government of Manitoba, which decided to offer them temporary refugee status, bring them to Winnipeg, and offer them free medical treatment and accommodations while they get their lives together.
The Mennonite Central Committee Manitoba is looking after their needs while they are here. “We appreciate everything being done for us,” the father says, describing the medical care as “very good… we have a good doctor for my son. The treatments are helping.”
“This is an opportunity to show there are many Manitobans who care,” said Daryl Loewen executive director of MCC. The symbolic time of year was not lost on the Mennonites as another family sought refuge 2,000 years ago in Bethlehem.
“This is a meaningful and Christian humanitarian response, showing compassion for a child,” he said.
There are three Palestinian families from Gaza in Manitoba with children receiving medical care.
Donations to assist the family through MCC can be made by visiting mcc.org/gaza-family-initiative.
I must note the stark contrast with the cruelty shown to asylum seekers by our neighbors to the south.
