SUMMARY: Trump’s bald faced transparent lies are dog whistles activating the rank and viles’ worst instincts of racism, misogyny, and might makes right. It keeps the culture of the slave-holding Deep South alive, well, and in the forefront of American life. Ultimately, it supports the belief that only white men should have the franchise.
KEY WORDS: Ethnic Cleansing, Big Lie, MAGA, ICE, Trump, ICE Atrocities, Undocumented Immigrants, Veneer of Truthiness, Hitler’s Propaganda Playbook
COMMENTS: What do you think? How invested is MAGA and Republicans in the ethnic cleansing of America? Will the continued brutality of ICE in Minneapolis and other cities cause MAGA to break with Trump?
The Big Lie has been back in the news lately with many pundits professing confusion about why El Gran Narcisista would persist in telling such a thoroughly debunked transparent lie. The incompetence of the MSM is rivaled only by the incompetence of the administration they cover.
The purpose of such lies is clearly explained in Hitler’s Propaganda Playbook. First, they are to construct an alternate reality for the masses to believe. Any lie repeated often enough becomes believed. The more outlandish and transparent the lie, the more likely it will be accepted as truth because no body would be so foolish as to tell such a whooper, duh! We’ll come back to this one in a moment.
And second, it is a loyalty test. Anyone who is unwilling to repeat the lie in public fails. That’s why Sister Lindsey is all in with the Big Lie on the pundit shows and caught in sworn testimony decrying the foolish idiocy of Il Dunce. And, it is why what is said in private doesn’t matter. To be a loyal member of the Felon Reich, you have to be willing to embarrass yourself on national TV repeating absurdities and twisting your logic and reasoning into Gordian Knots defending it to incredulous interviewers. Bonus points for spittle inflected rage at being challenged.
Let’s take a look at how these lies help Ditch manage his MAGA supporters Last week, we posted about a poll showing how many non-MAGA Republicans opposed Trump’s ICE antics being interpreted as weakness in Trump’s support. While the numbers were flashy, what they really showed was that a significant number of MAGA and non-MAGA Republicans either thought ICE was doing a bang up job or needed to murder more rea live Americans in the streets in their pursuit of five year olds to lock up and deport.
Does MAGA Support ICE Atrocities? Hell YES!
The question we’re answering here is why does MAGA support such atrocities? The answer of course is that they believe the lies that Republicans are telling them. The effectiveness of these lies is demonstrated in an NPR story in which they ventured into MAGA country and got some people on the street material.
The Protests Aren’t Really Protests
The intrepid reporter asked Allistaire Lawrence, attic renovator, about the cold-blooded murder of Alex Pretti in Minneapolis. In essence, he blamed Pretti and the “protesters” for the killing, reasoning that the ICE agents were on edge and jumpy because they’ve been in so many threatening and harrowing situations where they’re lives really were at stake. Honest. They were.
Additionally, Pretti shouldn’t have been there at all because the agents were armed. See, in Second Amendment America, if a liberal approaches an armed armored masked agent, they are just asking to be shot and killed. Why is there any argument about this? It’s all right there in the Constitution.
And lastly, the “protesters” are not actually protesting they are obstructing justice. He knows this because protesters are now given fenced off areas way away out of the way to do their little protesting. These people are all up in it, and we all know that the penalty fora liberal being up in a law officers face is death. Again, it is right there in the Constitution.
I’m glad MAGA could clear that up for us all. Let’s hear from another!
The Undocumented are Committing All of the Father Rape
We’ll quote directly from the article because no amount of snark, sarcasm, or profanity can make a dent in this hot mess.
“I have a 12-year-old daughter, and if I were to happen to witness my daughter being raped by an illegal immigrant that has committed crimes over and over and again and not being deported … that’s not OK,” a woman named Barrow said.
What the actual fuck? Where do you even start with such a twisted distorted statement? Is she actually suggesting that if her daughter’s rapist were a born-in-America red blooded all American white American man, it would be better than some filthy disease ridden staining serial rapist from some shit hole country? And, then to conclude with the milque toast, “that’s not OK”?
She followed that oddly dispassionate declaration up by stating that she often hears stories about undocumented immigrants raping fathers and eating children and buying the houses of good wholesome Americans forcing them to become homeless. She doesn’t know how many violent crimes the undocumented commit, but she knows it is bad.
The Veneer of Truthiness
And, that is the problem with telling those lies over and over again in the echo chamber of conservative media. They get believed because so many people repeat them. It is a human fallacy to accept as truth anything that a large number of people around us profess to believe.
Lies Build Support for ICE Atrocities
This is why you can’t go along to get a long and not challenge untrue statements. But, more importantly, it lays bare the harm that the MSM has done by bothsidesing issues and not challenging transparent bold-faced lies. We’ve let the snake into the house, we shouldn’t be surprised that it has bitten us.
We shouldn’t let ourselves be fooled by the soft spongy edges of Republican support for mass deportation. Focus on the board support that the ethnic cleansing is receiving in Red States. Tennessee gives grants to police agencies that agree to help ICE. New Hampshire has banned sanctuary cities. Other states are seeking to follow suit.
Democracy Only For White Male Voters

We also shouldn’t kid ourselves about the effectiveness of Trump’s lies. They serve to convince many Republican rank and vile voters that their inner racists are right, Blacks and Browns are icky, dirty, ignorant, disease ridden criminals that should be gotten rid of. Those lies about Haitians eating the cats and dogs of Springfield are goose stepping us right into the final solution of all to Trump’s impediments to massive corruption and grift and staying in office forever. Part of their fantasy of living in “The Song of the South” and “The Handmaid’s Tale” is that democracy means only white men voting.
We cannot let our desires of winning them over by witnessing the brutality of the system they support — and a large minority don’t think is brutal enough — fool us. These beliefs have been around since the inception of the country. We’ve tried making nice with them before and it only got us the three-fifths compromise, the Civil War, and Jim Crow. MAGA is deplorable and incorrigible. Remember that.

Trump’s trying to, DIVIDE the people of the U.S. into an “us” (the American patriots) versus “them” (everyone else that the Tyrant sees as “unfitting”), and he’s trying to “broadcast” his beliefs into the minds of his followers that don’t have their independent thinking abilities, he’s using FEAR as a tactic, to manipulate the masses, and, knowing how STUPID the crowd can be, he succeeded, but now, more Americans are becoming “woke”, as they started noting how ICE doesn’t just go after the illegals, but their own “kinds”, and there’s a revolution that’s “brewing” in the U.S., and, before Trump’s second term is over (I’m thinking), the people will finally RISE UP against HIS TYRANNY, and OVERTHROW the KING, despite how those “no kings marches” had turned into huge block-parties locally, for the time being…

Yeah that’s what’s happening in the US. When we overthrow Trump, though, it will be with votes. MAGA is suffering from mass psychosis due to the unending stress that all of the divisive social issues Republicans keep them living under. Progressives are clued into what is going on. It is the uninformed disinterested voter whose attention ICE has gotten and moved them to do something about it. That’s the importance of the No Kings protests. It is showing the number of people who are so opposed to Trump that they are will to participate.

It is what it is and it is what is always going to be…and it is going to get progressively worse as time marches on … and there is nothing that anybody is going to do about it because all the checks and balances are now impotent.

It will get worse in the immediate future, but even a year or two from now, I think it will get better. While the Constitutional checks and balances are compromised, they can still work, if the people holding those offices will enact them. However, the chief check and balance on authoritarianism is We the People. I know you don’t believe it, but peaceful mass protest is the most effective way. You can see its effectiveness in Minnesota right now. It also leaves the protesters energized, committed, and organized, especially the Minnesota protesters, boy are those folks organized. A fifth of the population is involved in the action against ICE in some form or fashion. A fifth. It is the effect of protest that will be Trump’s and the Republican Party’s undong. That organization, anger, energy, commit are being aimed at the elections. If people feel that the elections were not fair, we could see real trouble then.

I am waiting for the day that Trump declares all protesters to be a threat to national security and rounds up all of them for detention in Texas or somewhere. Every single protesters charged with inhibiting the ice officers in their sworn duty to protect the security of the United States…I can imagine something like this coming down the line.

They are pretty close to that now. Unfortunately, they are not as efficient at processing all of the data as the Chinese are. Maybe in a couple of years, the Chinese will have gotten us up to speed on that front.

In this culture, and many others, the single most important fact you have to know about someone is whether they are Male or Female. Their Race runs a very close second. That first one is what sends many people into panic at the idea of transgender. The second one is fundamentally about presumptions about character.

All of the things listed there are dog whistes, activating the inner racist of their listeners.
I said in 2016 that misogyny trumped racism. We had our first Black president but not our first woman. Harris had the double whammy of being a woman and Black. Luckily, 2026 is a mid-term and not a presidential election or we might be up for another loss.
While MAGA isn’t 50% of the population — more like 25% — he isn’t losing his core that kept him at 30+% approval ratings. The only real question is how opposed is the low information occasional disaffected voter to the loss of our democracy and the launching of the oligarchy. Part of the affect of his lies is that people don’t really understand how the government works, who does what, and what the actual rules or laws are. He’s hoping that they will just trust that the government will do the right thing or not bother to push back even if it is clearly illegal. He’s banking on apathy and being uninformed.
What he fears is the rallying cry, like Jimmy Kimmel was and the Minnesota murders were. What he’s hoping for is the reaction to the war crimes committed in the Caribbean.

His enemy is sustained resistance and engagement. The war crimes in the Caribbean were shocking, but far away, and you didn’t actually see the people killed, not in your face all the time like ICE with daily postings of witness videos and such. In the last couple of days he has suggested that ICE should cool off some, “be gentler”, but Miller will probably be able to talk him out of that. Miller is fully committed to a reign of terror. I think Team Trump wants to keep the ICE issue hot as cover for the planning for controlling elections, and, of course, the Epstein files.https://www.dailykos.com/stories/2026/2/4/2367221/-Immigrants-have-reduced-US-deficit-by-14-Trillion?pm_campaign=front_page&pm_source=community_spotlight&pm_medium=web

That is one reason that the Republicans have fought so hard to not allow footage of the second strike on the first boat to be released. It would’ve shown it to be cold-blooded murder on the high seas. It would’ve engendered similar outrage as we’re having to the cold-blooded murders in Minnesota.
We’re fast approaching the breaking point where we’re likely to see some very ugly violence committed by the government and possibly by protesters. Very likely it will be at a polling place during the election, if not sooner.
If the general population thinks that the 2026 election was stolen, we’re likely to see real violence.
In 1929 after Black Friday, the big fear was of a revolution, but Americans waited three long years until the 1932 elections and elected a new government. We’re in a similar place now. If Hoover had stolen the 1932 election, we may have had our revolution. If Trump steals the 2026 election, we may have one.

At this point, they would have to back off and chill out on a lot of the retribution and ethnic cleansing agenda until the election and do the preparation for the stealing very quietly to take the heat out of the resistance.
And, speaking of 1929, there are several ways the sheer incompetence of Trump and the gang could have us in at least a severe recession by November, or clearly on our way to it. For instance, the guy who promised to make the US the Crypto Capital of the World is now watching Bitcoin and other cryptos crash. Exactly why is unclear, but a lot of the small investors may be discovering what a sucker play and Ponzi scheme it was from the start. It is probably going down because the big guys are cashing out.

Trump is doing everything that a couch potato TV watching game playing basement living under employed adult child dependent on their parents still would do if they were president. He has no idea how the economy actually works. He has no idea how diplomacy works. He has no idea how human beings work. He has only the most simplistic understanding of any of it. I wonder if what we’re heading to is a JFK solution where some independent third-party group has had enough of his screwing up their business. I mean if Melania isn’t going to Florence Harding us out of it, maybe some monied interest mafia him. It was the mafia that got JFK, right? And to any Secret Service folks intercepting this based on key words… Um, this is a snarky, sarcasticky, profaney political psychology blog, so this is a joke rather than a threat, obv, right, guys? Right?

If you want a real accurate answer to the question about who supports the loss of our democracy you are going to have to corner and get the attention of one or more of the knuckle-dragging neanderthals who got us into this situation. Good luck with that…most of them respond to common sense with a fixed botox-like deer in the headlights stare because nothing is working in their upstairs organ.

One of the reasons I started this blog was to explain the inexplicable in our politics, like how people could be willing to abandon our democracy. Clearly, MAGA is anti-democratic. They prefer authoritarianism. Always have. Since the beginning of the country.
There is a virulent strain of racism that runs through our history and culture. The rhetoric of MAGA politicians today is the same, almost word for word as those arguing for the three fifths compromise, the run-up to the Civil War, Jim Crow, the segregationists. It has never left. It dwells in the hearts and souls of those touched by old Confederacy.
For those folks it is far better to live in a single party pseudo-democratic autocracy than it is to run the risk of allowing non-whites and women into the decision making positions of our government.

If by they you mean the police forces, national guard, and US military, then yes they do have the most and biggest guns. As long as we keep in mind that they — the Trump administration — wants us to have a violent reaction so they can justify a bloodier and more forceful crackdown using their greater armament, then we’re likely to avoid real violence.
I’ve seen people opining that only violent resistance will work against Trump. What I’ve also seen is that the people with that opinion are wanting others to engage in the violence.
Minnesotans are showing us the way. We have to be smart enough to follow their lead and take their training.

That is the heartening thing about the Minnesota and Maine protests. They are fighting it. And, in Minneapolis, they’ve mobilized about a fifth of population to do so.
It is remarkable that they have remained so non-violent. The organizers and trainers have done a great job. I assume that is Indivisible and other such organizations. I just hope that it can continue being non-violent.

The real tell will come after the 2026 election. If Trump steals the election and they are widely seen as being fraudulent, then we’re likely to see anger bubbling over into violence and escalation from there. What’s clear is that he folks running Indivisible and other organizations have really thought this through. They have been quietly training thousands, tens of thousands?, of people in non-violent techniques. Hopefully, that will get us through the tough spots when the inevitable ICE escalation occurs.

I do not understand why so many people are so firmly convinced that there is even going to be a 2026 election. Won’t the Republicans have nationalized the elections before that time?

We’re always going to have elections in the United States. The question is who will be voting — white people will always be able to vote — and whose votes will be counted — white men, especially wealthier white men. For many white people that will be sufficient to claim that we are democracy.
In 2020, Trump had many schemes to overturn the election. Some legal. Some less than illegal. Others are clearly completely criminal. Ultimately, they made it to the insurrection as the option of last resort. Same thing this time round. They have multiple schemes to ensure that Republicans win majorities in the House and Senate. You can enumerate them using information currently available in the public sphere.

Historically it has caused change. People who study authoritarianism have come to the conclusion that the best way to change an oppressive government is through mass peaceful protest. That’s really all I can say. I suppose that I could try to survey the studies and claims that folks like Timothy Snyder and Anne Applebaum have published, but I’m fairly satisfied with the conclusion.

Trainers? You mean to tell me that you believe the protests in Minnesota are not just a mass of disgruntled citizens expressing their displeasure? If there are trainers, then doesn’t this move from a simple mass demonsrtration to a horde of agitators as has been claimed?
