Trump thinks it is smart to be “unpredictable” like he’s Vector in Despicable Me, but it really means that he is impulsive and intuitive. However, the war with Iran is anything but impulsive or intuitive. It is the result of one of Trump’s other major qualities, being completely and utterly for sale. He’s sold our military — costing us lives and a billion dollars a day — to Netanyahu and Bone Saw to achieve their goal of destroying Iran. I don’t know how much they paid him, but it is us that are paying for it.
The only sane response to him is rein him in and hold him accountable.
War in Iran
Reasons for Going to War
War in Iran occured for a revolving door of ever changing reasons. Chief among the latest is that Trump FELT that Iran was going to strike first. Secretary of State Rubio said it was because Israel was going to attack which would provoke Iran to attack US assets, so instead of deterring Israel or hardening our assets, we shrugged and went along with them. Other reasons given: to destroy their obliterated nuclear abilities, destroy their non-existent ICBMs and existent medium-range ballistic missiles, and to retard their ability to sponsor terrorism. I heard Senator Kelly say he has a list of nine reasons.
The lack of reasons for going to war is the chief reason to be against it and end it as soon a possible. Trump needs to be reined in. He needs to be held accountable.
Munitions are not Infinite
We now live completely in Trump’s delusion. Let’s illuminate his world of make believe. First, Trump says that we have near infinite munitions like our munitions are made by Keebler elves at night while we all sleep. Second, he blithely says we can just take them from our armories on our bases around the world. As if they’re just there for convenience and not to support some regional strategic goal like deterring aggression from a specific opponent like China, North Korea, or Russia. He believes. And third, he thinks Biden wasted our infinite weapons by giving them to Ukraine and not because he sold them to the Gulf States and Israel.
According to sources who live in the real world, the shortage is the direct result of Trump’s reckless actions. He used a full quarter of our high-end munitions and interceptors in the June 2025 “obliterating” Iran’s nuclear weapons capability after Israel attacked them first Like Israel led us into that debacle, too. Then in service to Saudi’s war effort in Yemen, he used about $200 million worth of those same munitions gaining little or nothing by attacking Houthis.
Now there is talk of a supplemental funding bill for the military because if Trump’s reckless attack of Iran.
Not only does Trump clearly not understand how the military or war works, he clearly is out of control endangering us all. He needs to be reined in and held accountable.
Planning for the War
We read now about how we have approximately a million Americans in the Middle East region. Trump’s excuse for not having a plan in place was because it all happened very quickly. What? We chose the moment we attacked. There was no imminent threat.
It is the height of recklessness to undertake an attack of this magnitude without a plan for defending our bases, keeping our embassies, consulates, and diplomats safe, and for evacuating American citizens. It just makes no sense. The protection of Americans in the Middle East is as shambolic as his effort to protect us from the #COVID19 pandemic. Why would we expect anything different from that from Trump? Maybe the British or Canadians will take some Americans with their citizens because we sure as shit aren’t doing it.
Trump is a clear and present danger to every American. He needs to be reined in and held accountable.
Contempt for the Constitution, Congress, Law, and the American People
Presidents can only attack countries without prior Congressional approval if there is imminent threat. No matter how they wiggle or shake, there is no imminent threat to the US or any of our assets, Lil’ Marco’s whining about mean old Israel making us do it.
The problem with authoritarian rule is that it relies exclusively on the judgment of one person. No matter their delusion of perfection, they make mistakes. The advantage of democracy is that our legislative branch — Congress to you and me — deliberate issues. We discuss, debate, dispute. Then, we come to a vote for a decision. It is slow and messy, but it helps keep us out of trouble as long as everyone involved does so in good faith. The Republicans and the administration are not operating in good faith, which is where you come in.
We need an administration that respects the Constitution, the law, our government, and our citizens enough to follow our laws and norms. We need to rein Trump’s reckless dangerous behavior in. We need to hold him accountable.
Call Your Member of Congress
Don’t let yourself be gaslit by Trump, Republicans, or the smart aleck’s and trolls on your social media. Calling your member of Congress really works. They pay attention to those calls. This is shaping up to be a volatile and unpredictable election year, so they are especially concerned about what people are thinking. Even or maybe even especially the Republican members of Congress.
Help rein Trump in. Help hold him accountable. Make plans to call your members of Congress.
See our one size fits all guide to influencing Congress, other elected officials, and any government officials. It has everything you need to know including all of the links to find their contact information, ideas on what else to do other than call, what to do if you get voicemail or its full, and how best to craft your message. Otherwise, follow these steps:
Prepare for Contact
Only contact YOUR members of Congress. While it is tempting to call the most famous and influential members, they won’t listen to you if you’re not in their district or state. You’re just tying up the phone line, preventing a constitutient from calling.
When you call a Congressional person’s office, they’re likely to have an intern answering the phone to take a message. Treat them like a real live human being. Be polite. It’s not like your senator or representative is sitting there waiting for your call. And, even if by some fluke you end up talking to your members of Congress, you catch more flies with honey than with vinegar.
They are likely to follow the strategy of leaving it on voicemail to discourage you. Leave a message and consider using one of the alternative means of contacting their office like writing postcard or email.
No matter what you end up doing, there are two things that make contacting your members of Congress either better or more successful:
Have a Script
Know what you want to say ahead of time. It helps you hit all the points you want to make, be polite, stay on message, be efficient, and are ready for voicemail.
Here’s a model to use or follow:
Hi, my name is [NAME] and I’m a constituent from [STATE and LOCALITY].
I’m calling today to urge you to pass a war resolution act to rein in Trump’s reckless war in Iran. Congress must exercise its Constitutional duty to check and balance Trump. It is clear that our war in Iran is a waste in American lives and munitions, costing us a billion dollars a day. There was no imminent threat. There was no direct threat to Americans or America. This war is not in our best interest and allowing it to continue is no way to support our troops..
It is beyond time for Congress to rein in Trump. It is beyond time to hold him and his administration accountable.
Thank you for your time and attention.
IF LEAVING A VOICEMAIL: please leave your full street address to ensure your call is tallied.
Call as a Group
You have to call during business hours, so make it a day drinking game! Pass the phone and the shots around a group of friends, family, acquaintances, and strangers snagged off the street!
Seriously, you’re more likely to do a thing if you’ve (a) made a plan with date, time, and method established and (b) have a buddy or group doing it with you. So, get yourself organized and have some fun with it!

and, I’m sure, that even IF the House AND the SENATE both VOTE against Trump, he will still find a way to “declare” war on other countries, he will find a way to BYPASS the Congress, just like he’d already done, with the tariffs, and even IF the Supreme Court Justices had ruled against his tariffs, there’s NO way to ENFORCE the LAW on him, because he won’t comply to the rulings.

The way you preserve your democracy is by using the instruments of democracy, like Congress fulfilling its Constitutional duties and checking and balancing the other two branches of government. Trump is proof that the only way laws are followed is if people decide to follow the laws. The only way to get people to follow the law is by making the consequence of violating the law so sure and uncomfortable that it is easier and better to follow it. Trump can be constrained. Republicans and voters have to constrain him, though.

Trump is like a pubescent boy who has discovered masturbation. He just can’t stop himself. Term one, he was scared to death of military action. He wouldn’t do it. Now, his ego is so bloated and he’s had such “success” that he just can’t stop himself. Someone somewhere has to constrain him. The economic damage he’s doing to the world is severe and will have dire consequences. Luckily, lots of people who hold a string or two of power are realizing it. Let’s hope they can get some kind of action together to stop him.

I had something more like the Mafia Kennedy connection, if you know what I mean. Not that I’m hoping for it, but it would solve many of our problems. And, it makes a dandy plot or your international bestselling thriller.

Both Houses will be voting again soon on War Powers resolutions. The votes against were, like many votes on The Hill these days, very close. Each vote that goes from “No” to “Yes” the next time shifts the balance by 2.
Democrat members who voted wrong need to understand the implicit threat of a primary challenge.

Congressperson Garcia just withdrew from his race. With any luck, he’ll resign, too. Now that primary season is underway, and it is looking brutal for the Republicans with primary challenges and several incumbents fighting for their lives, you can expect Republican absenteeism to be way up. It might could just be a matter of when the votes are scheduled.

Along with the dismal jobs report, and talk of Stagflation in the media, and a Senator talking about Epstein’s ties with Russia (and Trump’s ties to Epstein), Reality is getting very real for Republican incumbents and candidates. As Phillip K. Dick said: “Reality is that which when you stop believing in it doesn’t go away.”

Epstein and Russia. That’s the connection that is likely to undo the whole giant mess. Epstein may catch the bastard yet.

But for the lack of an actual active shooting war with Russia, the “T” word could well apply.

The more weaponry we expend in Iran, the less we have to give to Ukraine to use against Russia. One reason that Russia is hoping that it will widen and engulf NATO since European nations are now supplying Ukraine. That Trump has relaxed some sanctions against Russia and is not upset about Russian aide to Iran is pretty telling about his loyalties.

Trump, loyalties? Jack, you know there’s no such thing, just deals, and he has no problem reneging on those.

Or where he’s made deals and who holds the kompromat

I do occasionally try to imagine what Trump could do to piss Putin off enough to drop the Kompromat Bomb. It is difficult..

I don’t know that Trump is capable of doing anything that could piss Putin off. Trump is so easily led astray by his appetites and desires that Putin plays him like Paganini played his violin. It is just another reason that re-election the bastard is just so maddening and disappointing.

I bet that Epstein had plenty of Kompromat on Trump. Hopefully we will see some of it, although he may have taken the worst of it to the grave with him.

It seems to me that Epstein maybe the missing piece of the Trump-Russia connection. Clearly Manafort had a Russia connection, but his connection was more personal; he was paying off a debt by helping a friend of a friend. The friend may have been motivated or informed by the Epstein connection. In Maxwell’s background was a strong suggestion that her father, and by extension her, was working for or with Mossad.Just given Andrea’s problem with having passed sensitive documents to Epstein shows you that he was trading in information, corporate, government, and, possibly, covert. He could be the kompromat that kept Trump on a short leash. If he is, then that kompromat still exists in some form, perhaps in the Epstein file, but releasable by somebody.
Whoever is holding Trump’s leash and what the leash is made of is unknown, but it I clear that somebody controls him.

As with all corrupt activities, the answer is to be found by following the money. The worst of the stories of the victims of the sex trafficking will not be heard, because they are the stories of the ones who did not survive, or are so damaged that they will never come forward. But, the survivors are likely to know more than they have yet said, like whether they were supposed to get the men to brag about things they should not have spoken of.

Hopefully, the Epstein files will be a permanent stain on Republicans as people remember their outrage over the abuse, the cover up of the abusers, and stall that denied them justice by running the statute of limitations. And whether anyone goes to jail for their role in the abuse or trafficking in illegal information, drugs, or money or not, hopefully there will be some accountability for most of them. It will take some justice warrior to investigate it all whether that is out of the DoJ or some of the states.

We need a lot of Justice Warriors investigating that stuff and much more, and getting constant headlines and MSM coverage, for years, digging and digging, and digging, and naming names. Could we just clone Jack Smith?
