On Friday 21 July on The Rachel Maddow Show over at MSNBC she interviewed, Walter Dellinger, Clinton’s assistant attorney general and acting solicitor general in a segment entitled, Trump team grasping for ways to undercut Mueller Russia probe. They were discussing the utility of attributing conflicts of interest to Mueller: he has people who made donations to Clinton’s campaign on his staff, he was a member of one of the Ol’ Pussy Grabber’s gold clubs, and other straws of flimsy accusations. During the interview, he made this interesting observation:

The idea that Robert Mueller would risk his reputation that he spent a lifetime gather to try and go after someone because of a six year old fee dispute at a golf club is beyond absurd.

He’s a Narcissist

One person who thinks it isn’t absurd is  the Ol’ Pussy Grabber! He believes it to his soul. You know why? Say it with me now: He’s a narcissist! He can only see things from his point-of-view! He can only see what he would do in a given situation, and, of course, he would go after someone for such a petty thing!

He has shown us that he is a vindictive angry thin-skinned sum’bitch! The Ol’ Pussy Grabber would move heaven and earth, would break every law, would sully himself in the lowest gutter and wallow with the most nauseating pigs in order to exact revenge over a perceived slight! Of course, he thinks any golf fee dispute at one of his clubs would motivate Mueller to “come after him” through the office of Special Counsel.

I lament that more of these pundits, talking heads, and other TV news folks don’t understand narcissism better. It makes the whole situation much more understandable and much more predictable. The Ol’ Pussy Grabber is a NARCISSIST! A narcissist!

Accusing Robert Mueller of having a conflict of interest over something as petty as a disputed golf fee at a golf club is absurd to everyone except for the Ol’ Pussy Grabber. Partisan politicians like Ryan and McConnell will accept it as an excuse for firing Mueller because it helps them advance their political agenda. They don’t believe it. They know it is absurd. But, it works for them.

The idea that the Repubes in Congress will impeach the Ol’ Pussy Grabber is also absurd. The Repubes in Congress wouldn’t impeach Nixon until it was clear that their re-election was at risk. The only way to get the Repubes to act is to threaten their re-election. Their  belief that the House is beyond reach due to their concerted efforts at gerrymandering helps keep them inactive. They don’t believe any poll that shows their majority is imperiled. They think they’re beyond reach.

It is incumbent upon us, the electorate, to become involved, be outraged, and elect a Democratic Congress in 2018. Politics don’t matter here. It is the only plausible way of saving us from Repube authoritarianism. It is the only way to rescue our democracy.
