In our ongoing analysis of the so-called “mind” and mental status of the Ol’ Pussy Grabber, I found this article on STAT. While many have noted his unique inarticulateness and his decline in verbal acumen, it is not clear what it is attributable to: normal aging, disease, stress, or a combination. This article does a good job of demonstrating the decline, including excellent video of interviews, past and present, and analysis from real experts.
The real issue concerns whether the decline signifies something debilitating or would impede his ability to discharge the duties of the office, a la the 25th amendment. He started out being incapable of discharging the duties of the office, we all know that, right? But, if it were Alzheimer’s, let’s say, or due to mini-strokes and it were demonstrated as such, then the cabinet would have to act. Even if it were just due to stress, the cabinet could be justified in acting.

State of (Trump’s) Mind
Trump wasn’t always so linguistically challenged. What could explain the change?
STAT asked experts to compare Trump’s speech from decades ago to that in 2017. All noticed deterioration, which may signal changes in Trump’s brain health.
It was the kind of utterance that makes professional transcribers question their career choice:
“ … there is no collusion between certainly myself and my campaign, but I can always speak for myself — and the Russians, zero.”
When President Trump offered that response to a question at a press conference last week, it was the latest example of his tortured syntax, mid-thought changes of subject, and apparent trouble formulating complete sentences, let alone a coherent paragraph, in unscripted speech.
He was not always so linguistically challenged.
STAT reviewed decades of Trump’s on-air interviews and compared them to Q&A sessions since his inauguration. The differences are striking and unmistakable.

As a former educator of 30 years, I can at the very least psychologically profile him with a severe inferiority complex masked by narcissism and other extreme behaviors. These tendencies have gotten worse over time as reflects in his nonsensical tweeting and refusal to admit error even when he potentially breaks the law. And then we can look into the dementia interaction with this.

Yes, I agree. Anyone who’s had much contact with people, especially educators, recognize mental dysfunction when they see it. As a mental health service provider (social worker) for 20 years, I diagnose him as an unproductive malignant narcissistic personality disorder. Unproductive because of his very poor, shockingly poor, executive functioning. Malignant because of his psychopathic features (sadism, remorselessness, aggression) and narcissism because he fits the bill. He is a reified narcissist worsening instead of improving. Events of the past few days demonstrate this amply.

Typical aging-based dementia or super-charged Alzheimer’s-type dementia? That’s the question. Personally, I feel like it is the reified narcissist, aging, and stress. But, we’ll see.
How could anyone ignore the biggest red flag to his fitness to being president? No, they just don’t care. Seriously, it doesn’t matter to them whether he’s fit or not.
You are right about the panic — except for the true narcissists who feel that they are entitled to having the rules bent for them — concerning the impending indictments.
