It's been five long years of blogging the Trump years. We've laughed, we've cried, we've pulled some of our remaining hair out, but we've made it. It is almost done and our democracy, nation, and souls are still largely intact. Unfortunately, we're not through. There is much more to come as we stitch ourselves back together like some kind of common Frankenstein monster as we recover from the PTSD that Trump gave us and the needless deaths and suffering from #COVID19. We also have to keep #BidenHarris honest & progressive, oppose Republican obstructionism anti-democratic tendencies, and whatever other black swans await us. All of which will be addressed using good old-fashioned snarcky, sarcasticky, profaney fun and psychological insights.

Howdy CalicoJack! I commiserate with you regarding the current political situation in America. Willing commonsense and decency to prevail, rooting for you all. Heaven knows we in the UK need all the help we can with our corrupt and greedy government. I sense the presence of the Four Horsemen on the horizon, but their time isn’t now.
I suppose writing is a form of catharsis, it certainly gets the message out. Give me your everyday fire breathing dragon, Mesopotamian /ancient Egyptian god’s, mages, etc., any day. They certainly make more sense.
More power to your, er, pen. Or would that be keyboard?
The pixel and byte are indeed more powerful than the militarized zone and racist travel bans. However, with the US ending net neutrality, we’ll see how long that lasts. I still can’t believe that y’all allowed Brexit, a major decision that affects not only the UK and Europe, but the entire world, to be decided by a simple majority. That’s true madness and now the utter chaos of separating the two… Lord. If we didn’t have so much drama here at home, that would be one of my major foci. And, I don’t think Putin and his cyber legion of hackers, drones, and trolls is done with any of our elections. So, yes, give me the ancient histories and fantasy worlds any day. I just finished a book on the Golden Age of Piracy (a favorite era in history). I’d even take that over what we have now.
It is a catharsis and gratifying to see the views, followers, and interactions growing.
Your words are indeed wise and insightful. We’re living in an Orwellian nightmare and it looks like there will be worse to come. The human psyche, indeed the Group Mind, is undergoing a profound transformation. The darkest and uncontrollable aspects of the unconscious are surfacing and wreaking havoc. This is evident across the globe. It’s nasty and insidious.
As for Brexit, the whole process was handled badly from the beginning. I voted to Remain and was appalled at the behaviour from both sides. The Leave campaign was overshadowed by the odium of nationalism, racism and self-interest. The government should have considered the implications of making such a major decision.
Back in the day when I was way into Jungian psychology, I believe we were entering the Age of Aquarius. Aquarius is the age in which the conscious and unconscious minds are consciously merged. The previous age was the Age of Pisces in which the conscious and unconscious minds were unconsciously separated into independent spheres, i.e. unknowingly influencing each other. The idea was that as we integrate our unconscious minds with our conscious minds we will become more aware of all of the crap that is going on in our unconscious mind, and we will fight the integration with some being hyper-cerebral and some hyper-impulsive acting more on their ids and animal instincts.
It is curious that we had an extended period of reductions in violence and poverty across the world and now we’re seeing a slow uptick in violence and if current policies continue, poverty. Hopefully, this is the last gasp of the collective id as we integrate.

Edit to add a PS: I deleted your other two comments since they were (a) incomplete and (b) repetitive. This comment seemed to be the complete thought based on the other two. Hope your internet connection settles down. I know mine continues to be funky but I live in China where the internet has always been under the tight control of the government, i.e. it was never neutral.
Jungian psychology is a particular interest of mine. It appears that many are undergoing an abreation, who knows where it will go…
Thank you for deleting the other two comments, becomes embarrassing when it happens more than once. I was using my smart “when it feels like working” phone on those occasions.
I hate it when my smart phone is smarter than me! Not that I’m saying yours is smarter than you or anything. I’m sure that it is simply malfunctioning, but mine is simply passive aggressive.
I can’t even watch. I can’t watch the face, even if it’s dubbed by the awesome Bad Lipreading folks. I want to be informed about the world around me, but I also want not to lose my mind. And therein lies the challenge of 2017. . .
It is hard to listen to his voice or his diction; it is nearly impossible to decipher what he’s actually trying to communicate; and I definitely don’t like looking at him. Luckily, the Bad Lip Reading video isn’t necessary for staying informed, just amused.
I assume their already out there waiting for us, but I don’t know how much I really am looking forward to them, though. Seriously, I could be snarky, sarcasticky, and profaney about a ton, a slew, a plethora of other topics rather than how the madman currently squatting in the Oval Office is letting pee hookers piss on everything sacred in America.

The video is, scary and laugh inducing. Rather like watching a bad reality TV show, without the laughs. The makers have done an excellent job!
