Howdy y’all!
As we follow the daily horror show that is Trump 2.0, we have to do SOMETHING to register our displeasure at the destruction of government agencies, defiance of court orders, the dismissal of legitimate criminal charges and discontinuation of investigations, the disregard of human and civil rights, and the violations of our Constitution, laws, and democratic norms.
They can flood the zone with shit, as Steve Bannon once said, but we can flood the switchboard, their website, mailrooms, and inboxes with demands for a return to law and order.
I think we all start calling the White House switchboard with this message:
I’m calling today to urge TRUMP to follow the rule of law, court orders, the Constitution, and our democratic norms.
It doesn’t have to be any more than that.
Our goal has to be to stop business as usual in the Executive Branch if not across the federal government. As full-time citizens, our ability to gum up the federal works is limited, but one thing we can do is flood the zone with demands that they cease their lawless destructive behavior.
Here’s the information you’ll need:
- White House Switchboard: 202-456-1414 or the comments line at 202-456-1111 during business hours.
- White House Contact Form: The White House contact form
- White House Email: There IS NO EMAIL ADDRESS only the form
- White House Mailing Address:
- The White House
- 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, N.W.
- Washington, DC 20500
- Trump’s Social Media Accounts:
- Instagram: @realdonaldtrump
- Facebook: @DonaldTrump
- Truth Social: @realDonaldTrump
The White House and Trump should not know a moments peace while they refuse to follow the law, Constitution, and our democratic norms.
Let us know how it goes in the comments.

You can call the white house all you want to but I guarantee you that nobody is listening. As of this moment I believe that our representative democracy isn’t functioning at all.

Good idea but will they actually care? chuq

If we can impede the workings of the mailroom, crash their website, or keep the switchboard so busy it is dysfunctional then it will register. That’s the only way we can make it work.

First of all, flooding the white house switchboard will have no effect at all because by this time they have probably gotten canned messages thanking us all for our support of Trumps agenda and wishing us a wonderful day —and secondly, if Trump and company are ignoring the constitution and the rule of law they certainly as hell are ignoring the voice of the people also …but thank you for making the suggestion because it tells me you are not one of the blind and ignorant toads who approve of all that is happening to us right now.

Howdy John!
Probably? Call and find out. We won’t know until we try. According to Joyce White Vance, Trump hasn’t defied a court order yet. Pressure on Congressional Republicans supposedly is what unfroze the payment freeze.
The point of calling the White House, mailing the White House, and using the White House website contact page is to do it in such large numbers that it crashes the systems whether that is just keeping the switchboard tied up, overrunning the mail room, or actually crashing the White House website.
As I said in the post, we as citizens can’t do much to actually stop the work of the Executive Branch, but we can do that much. Stopping Trump will take something from everyone.

Problem is that Americans are so preoccupied with their own pet obsessions they will not take the time to become activist. They would rather complain and roll over and play dead. bitching and moaning all the way.

The way the United States, and, just about, EVERY democratic country out there, is going through, this sort of a, transition into, authoritarianism. And, it really doesn’t matter, how many petitions we sign, how hard we protest, the government will, REFUSE to, hear us, until, we used the, “more Un-civilized” means of, riots, rebellions, to, OVERTHROW the DICTATORSHIP OUT of, office, and then, who’s to, GUARANTEE, that, the next ruler we put into office, will have, “the best interest of the people” in mind. Let’s face it: the political party, in control of, ALL the, democracies are simply, TOO, power-thirsty, and, we get, stuck in the, vicious cycle of, “transitioning” from Party A to Party B, REPEATEDLY. And, at the very end, people’s rights still get, SCREWED over, because, we are all, misled, by the, beliefs of, majority, RULE. Because the, voters are, WAY too, STUPID, and, way too, EASILY, manipulated!

No, that is wrong. The US is backsliding, but you cannot say that every democracy or even just about every democracy is backsliding. It just isn’t the case. The world is seeing a resurgence in authoritarianism, but it hasn’t and won’t reach that proportion.
People are not stupid. However, they are people and react remarkably similarly in similar circumstances which does make them manipulable. That doesn’t mean politicians will be able to manipulate them, though.
Not all democratic politicians are so power hungry that they’ll sell out their democracies.
Those things just aren’t true and believing them only helps the would-be authoritarians among us.
