During the past couple of weeks I came face-to-face with the destructiveness of dark tetrad personality characteristics both in my personal life and in the SOTUS. The behavior of House Republicans makes a stark illustration of just how impossible large gatherings of personality disorders make cooperation and achieving goals. Craven self interest will be the downfall of human kind.

We all know about the hatred the GQP has for providing healthcare for its citizens. They’ve tried to stop the ACA, they don’t exapand Medicaid, they don’t fund public health, anything and everything. Now, we find that there is a near perfect correlation between #COVID19 vaccination rates and voting in the 2020 presidential election. Guess what that means? It means we’re so fucked.

If you are as worried sick as I am about the fate of our democracy, then you’ll want to read my review of Masha Gessen’s 2016 article, Autocracy: Rules for Survival that was published in The New York Review of Books. When we compare her six rules to the sorry state of affairs, real despair sets in. It’s like watching one of those slasher horror films, you know what’s going to happen and there’s absolutely nothing you can do to stop it. Even though the character is being extremely stupid and doing stuff no one would ever do outside of a movie, you still gotta sit there and watch it.
