TL;DR, I KNOW, right? Who has seven minutes to give for their democracy? That’s asking for a huge sacrifice! There are two big possibilities left. The second one is a killer, likely to work, and probably will be tried!

There is much talk about bridging our political divide with lots of talk about reaching for white voters being regurgitated. The real problem is the social support that the lies of Trump and the GOP have. To break that social support, we have to consider banning knowingly telling lies for political gain. Those lies are destroying the country.

Trump has set a frenetic pace in holding rallies around the country. He firmly believes that he is his own best messenger, but will it work as a strategy? There is some evidence that it could boost his turnout by as much as 6%.

WTAF? I know, RIGHT? But, there’s lots you can skip. It’s just boring Constitution and US Code stuff that governs how we elect a president. The juicy part — how he’s going to do it, how Trump is going to steal the election — is short and interesting.

Can we all agree on two things:
(1) All real live Americans are guaranteed Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness; and
(2) Getting, but especially dying of, the covfefevirus would deprive us of Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness; and
(3) No one has a greater right to Life Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness than anyone else. We are all equal in that way.
So, wearing a mask helps us preserve the Declaration of Independence and Bill of Rights, n’est-ce pas?

I get it that the Bernie Bros are upset that their man didn’t make it… AGAIN! And, that it is just inexplicable that the entirety of America weren’t swept off their feet like they were, so there must be something WRONG. There is something wrong: they don’t understand how democracy works.

Rather long for a meme, but you know, it’s the Supremes! They are important. If I die with a 7-2 conservative SCOTUS split, I will personally haunt every mother’s son who didn’t vote, voted third party, wrote in a candidate, or otherwise helped the Ol’ Pussy Grabber get re-elected, I swear to god.

In my continuing series on the psychology behind each of the major candidate’s campaigns, here is the Bernie Sanders edition.
Sanders is predominately affected by the dynamics around an authoritarian personality. That is how it affects his view of the world and how it affects his supporters.

This is an update of a post written shortly after the election in 2016. It is still applicable now, and it is pretty darn good. In short, ain’t nothing matter if we don’t get out the vote, bitches! All your memes, snarky social media posts, protests, phone calls none of it will matter if you don’t vote in November.
So let’s “as a people rise up” and speak with one voice and vote the Repubes out!
What to make of Mueller’s testimony? Will it help? Will it hurt? Will it not matter? How will people react? Well, psychology has something to say about it all… and it’s better news than you think!
Things perked up slightly in the Intelligence Committee than they were in the Judiciary. Go figure. Maybe everyone’s coffee had kicked in. You may not agree with my characterization, but I stand by my post. The only remaining question is whether the Dems are adept enough to build on the foundation that they laid or whether the foundation they laid is sufficient to build upon.
It’s another American presidential election, which started more than 18 months before the actual election! American politics are crazy. But, the Dems are debating tonight and we all wanna know who won, who zung, who clung, who hung. I’ll be live-blogging the debate as it is live-streamed in Paris at 3:00 AM. Join me here for a snarky, sarcasticky, profaney good time as we all watch together!
We may not be able to predict who the Dem candidate for president will be, but can we predict the type of candidate? What does the danger and craziness of Trump do to the psyche of the electorate as we head into the 2020 election cycle?
We are drowning in cynicism! Cynicism is toxic. It kills motivation. It turns people against each other. It stops conversation. It erodes trust. Cynicism is killing our democracy!
Didn’t vote for Clinton, so you pissed away Obama’s last Supreme Court nomination. Now the Pussy Grabber could be looking at one or even two more nominations sealing a conservative majority on the Court for a generation. We could lose every gain we’ve made during the past 60 years. Didn’t vote for Clinton. Are you happy now?
I’m reviewing Katy Tur’s “Unbelievable” in three parts! It’s that good! Fantastic treatment of the campaign, covering a campaign, being a reporter, and being a human being caught up in the Ol’ Pussy Grabber’s gaslighting narcissistic abuse meat grinder. Katy comes out on the other side stronger and better for it… and you will, too.
Clinton’s book is about sexism and intimidating women. Tur’s book is about sexual assault. How many women have experienced sexual aggression? How many men have committed sexual aggression?
How you viewed the condition of the country probably determined your vote. If you saw the country as doing OKAY, you probably saw the Ol’ Pussy Grabber as too big of a risk. But if you saw the country has going in the wrong direction, you were tempted to take a chance on the Ol’ Pussy Grabber. What does behavioral economics, loss aversion, and risk seeking tell us about 2018?
My good blogging buddy, Shmaltz, is collecting opinions about the 2016 election via a survey. Be chum, be a pal, be a sport, and help her out, why don’tcha?
With the death of Roger Ailes, we are focused on the contributions of news to political polarization. Now we have liberal fake news to contend with. Here we examine the role of perception in our polarized politics.
