By now, everyone knows that Trump is a classic textbook case of narcissistic personality disorder. Hell, I’ve even heard defense and intelligence analysts on cable news and podcasts proclaim him a narcissist. Even AI assistants have joined the club!

Thanks to friend-of-the-blog, Mock Paper Scissors, we have this curious story from a Mediaite reporter asking no fewer than THREE chatbots to analyze a Trump social media screed using the DSM-5. Shockingly, all the bots pointed out the ample evidence supporting a diagnosis of profound narcissistic vulnerability. But let’s get real: the question isn’t whether he’s a narcissist—that’s been obvious for decades. The real question is, how does that inform our resistance to his madness?

It makes the inexplicable explicable. Why is he doing the things he’s doing? There are several aspects of narcissism that explain it. We’ll go through them with examples.

Avenging Narcissistic Injuries

It’s long been the position of Ye Olde Blogge that the Orange Felon and his entourage would rue the day he ever decided to run for office. Since then, he’s been entangled in litigation, drowning under felony charges, and traipsing through courtrooms like it’s a second home. Each high-profile case against him has become a fresh narcissistic wound that just must be avenged.

A narcissistic wound occurs whenever the puffed-up peacock’s plumage of perfection is ruffled by reality. Such injuries reveal the empty shell of insecurity, shallow self-esteem, and shivering uncertainty that make up the hollow, shrivelled heart of every narcissist. Ironically, the narcissist’s delusion of perfection is so profound that until the moment of the injury, they believe we’re all duped, that we actually buy into their bullshit. But once that façade crumbles, they feel compelled to destroy anyone who dared challenge their fragile self-concept.

At Trump’s direction, the DoJ has attempted to indict New York Attorney General THREE times. One indictment was tossed by the judge because the sole “prosecutor” brave enough to present this weak sauce to the grand jury was illegally appointed. The other two? An unheard-of double no-bill from the grand jury. The chances of a prosecutor being turned down by a grand jury are minuscule, making those two denials unprecedented.

But the DoJ can’t quit James because of the severity of the injury she inflicted. Having that civil judgment go against him was bad enough, but the real salt in the wound? She’s a woman and she’s Black. To the misogynistic racist that is Trump, that’s a double whammy that simply cannot stand.

This same analysis can be applied to all of the other failed vindictive prosecutions that he’s directed the DoJ to enter into, especially James Comey.

The last ten months have felt like a tiresome, endless stream of pundits gnashing their teeth, tearing their clothes, and scraping their boils with broken pottery shards on cable news channels. They wail the same question: Why is he doing this? What is he up to?

Apparently, we didn’t learn anything from the Ol’ Pussy Grabber’s reign of error. After all, we elected him AGAIN. And still, we’re clueless about his motivations.

He’s a narcissist. From The Narcissism of Donald J. Trump, narcissists have four major features:

1. inflated sense of their own importance,
2. a deep need for admiration,
3. a lack of empathy for others, and
4. a fragile self-esteem sensitive to even a slight criticism.

It is that sensitivity to criticism that drives everything in his second term. Everything. NOTHING else matters except resolving the narcissistic wounds inflicted upon him.

The ACA Subsidies Mess

Obama delivered one of Trump’s all-time worst narcissistic wounds with that infamous WHCD joke about Trump’s decisions on The Apprentice and the birther conspiracy. It was at that moment Trump decided he would run for president and erase all of Obama’s achievements. Thanks, Obama!

But jokes on Trump, because he can’t actually erase those accomplishments. He can undo them, sure, but everyone still remembers what Obama achieved. Only by recreating a Stalinist Russia could he wipe Obama from the history books. That’s it. That’s all the senile old narcissist has left.

The fact that Obamacare is beloved by the American people only leaves the seething windbag feeling irritable and loathsome. To make matters worse, the fact that Obama is Black adds more salt to that narcissistic wound. Trump has to destroy Obamacare — it’s the only thing that truly matters to him.

Since truth and fact mean nothing to him, it doesn’t matter if he ever replaces it. The only goal is destruction. Even a flimsy fig leaf of a replacement will do. Lives lost due to his actions? Who cares? He’ll just blame it on someone else.

Trump’s War on Science and National Health Infrastructure

Who could possibly be against cancer research? Childhood vaccines? Pandemic monitoring? Anyone, apparently, if that person is Trump.

Why would Trump deliberately undermine one of the greatest achievements of our nation, its medical research? The world follows CDC guidelines, which shaped the Twentieth Century into the American Medical Research Century — responsible for groundbreaking discoveries from AIDS to cancer treatments to DNA sequencing. Yet, in less than a year, Trump has laid waste to it all.

Remember that news conference during the height of the #COVID19 pandemic when he suggested injecting disinfectant or somehow getting light into the body might treat #COVID19? It was supposed to be the foundation for another “Sir! Sir!” story. You know, the kind where he offers some ridiculous insight into a complex problem, and big men with tears in their eyes cry out, “Sir! Sir! How did you know that? We’ve never seen anything like it!” Too bad the medical community ruined his moment by treating it like the absurdity it was.

He never forgot or forgave it. Now, is the moment of his revenge. They didn’t want to take his incredible insight and waste millions researching it? He’ll take them all down. The J in Donald J. Trump stands for Jenius after all.

Seriously, millions of us have to die because scientists wanted to pursue truth instead of kissing his hairless flabby orange ass.

Ukraine’s Security “Guarantees”

Recent reports on the Orange Caricature’s bid for a Nobel Peace Prize highlight his proposal for security guarantees to Ukraine post-war. In case you haven’t noticed: (a) Trump has been bought lock, stock, and barrel by Putin, so there’s zero actual force behind those guarantees; and (b) Trump gave Zelenskyy a chance during that infamous 25 July 2019 perfect phone call when he demanded an investigation into Biden — and the bastard didn’t deliver.

That call got him impeached, which was its own narcissistic wound, but worse, it may have cost him the 2020 election. Whatever the fallout, Zelenskyy joins the long list of people deserving of Trump’s retribution.

Haha, Zelenskyy, there ain’t no US weapons coming to you and their ain’t no guarantee of security no matter what gets said or signed. Not as long as Trump is in office.

The 2020 Election: the Grand Mal Wound

Trump has never won anything fair and square in his life. To compete and lose would inflict a tremendous narcissistic wound. For him, losing is simply unacceptable. He has to guarantee a win, so he cheats.

The Liar-in-Chief is dishonest about everything he does. He is drawn to lying and theft like a moth is to flame — #ScienceFact, moths aren’t so much as attracted to light as they are confused by it. Hunh. What do you know, maybe it is an apt metaphor for the old felonious rapist after all.

Famously, he didn’t expect to win the 2016 election, so he didn’t have a speech prepared. However, he is still promoting the voter fraud and Russian hoax lies because of course. The reason the 2020 loss was so significant is because he was actively trying to steal the election and flubbed it up. He fully expected to win in 2020, and losing was a major narcissistic wound.

Losing to Biden caused that wound to fester, especially since Biden was such an easy target. That Biden was so successful, particularly in controlling the #COVID19 pandemic while the virus and the scientific community proved resistant to gaslighting, only adds to Trump’s wounds.

Trump cannot quit the Big Lie because it means admitting defeat. It’s why he is working so hard to undo the 6 January Insurrection narrative, for example by pardoning the participants, including the pipe bomber, even though he failed miserably. He will be carping on the rigged 2020 election until. the day he dies.

The Tariffs

Trump loves him some tariffs because they force every world leader who ignored him and laughed at him during the first time round to deal with him now. Remember when Angela Merkel confronted him at a G7 meeting in 2018? There’s a famous photo of her leaning over a table surrounded by the other leaders and a very surprised looking John Bolton. The G7 leaders dissed and derided him. He was so marginalized that it became a narcissistic wound. They couldn’t and wouldn’t take him seriously.

Now, because of the tariffs, they have to. They have to negotiate with him, which for the Debased Perorator gives him a whiff of legitimacy and importance. The ninety deals in ninety days thing.

The problem? We’ve got a cosplay administration. They don’t have a clue about achieving anything as a government, especially regarding negotiations. Trump’s approach? Make a demand and, if it’s not met, issue a threat. So, it doesn’t take a genius to see that most world leaders have figured out it’s easier to cater to his massive ego and make deals that ultimately marginalized the US.

Destroying the Economy and Culture

Many have pointed out that if you wanted to destroy the US as a world power, you’d do exactly what Trump is doing. We must accept that Trump is actively trying to dismantle the US for fun and profit. He’s maximizing his grift and his vendetta.

One last important target of his revenge is the American people themselves, especially MAGA, because they didn’t vote for him in sufficient numbers to give him landslide victories in 2016 or 2024 and an actual loss in 2020. For letting him down so badly and savaging his ego so completely, we have to be destroyed. It is as simple as that.

The Retribution Regime

When Trump brayed that he would be MAGA’s retribution, we all assumed he meant being openly racist and misogynistic in government policy. However, what he meant is that he would go after his perceived enemies while letting his sycophants like Stephen Miller, Elon Musk, and RFK, Jr. implement whatever policies they wanted.

Understanding his narcissistic wounds puts all his inexplicable destructive policies into perspective. Suddenly, it all becomes crystal clear. It also makes the normalization process the MSM is engaged in all the more criminal and tragic. The MSM can’t seem to accept that Trump is out to destroy the world. The 2020 election has unleashed an utterly debased, implacable destructive force. Without grasping Trump’s nihilistic, homicidal, and suicidal impulses, we will never be able to resist the ruin he’s inflicting on so many.
