Take Over of Greenland Destroys NATO

Whether Trump feels like he needs to own Greenland for his psychological well being or to do Putin’s bidding doesn’t matter. A violation of a NATO member’s sovereignty destroys the alliance and burns the rules-based international world order to the ground. Destroying both removes any international impediment to autocratic regimes like Putin’s, Bone Spur’s, Xi’s, and the one Trump is trying to build.

Don’t Let Trump Gaslight You on Greenland

Trump justifies the US acquisition of Greenland by flatly stating that Russia or China will take the territory if the US doesn’t. But, that ignores the NATO alliance’s mutual defense pact. In the terms of the treaty, occupying the territory of one member country is the same as occupying the territory of every member country. We are all obligated to defend the territory. Both Putin and Xi know that if they attack Greenland it is the same as attacking the US. Worse because we have the added might of Europe with us.

Because Denmark is an ally, we can have anything we want in Greenland. We have a military base there now and have had dozens before. If we feel that a more robust military presence is needed in Greenland is needed, we can organize that. It doesn’t matter who posses the territory. It’s a NATO member. NATO member troops can be stationed there, including US troops.

As the territory of an allied nation, getting permission or contracts for US companies to extract minerals would be relatively easy and straightforward. The problem isn’t the permission. Denmark isn’t denying any company license to exploit the mineral deposits there. The problem is the same as in Venezuela: it is too damn expensive to do so. We can provide economic incentives for American countries to mine the rare and precious earth metals there whether it is Danish or American territory.

Trump is Satisfying his Narcissistic Need for Self-Aggrandizement

Trump wants Greenland to satisfy his ego’s fetish of self-aggrandizement. It is classic overreach. It is destroying everything we’ve gained in the past eighty years for no gain other than to appease Trump’s insecurities and his poor self-esteem.

In other words, it qualifies as such poor judgment and such a destructive move that we need to stop him from taking us along in this particular brand of suicide.

Destroying the Independence of the Federal Reserve

The Narcissistic Wound that Needs to be Avenged

Powell represents a narcissistic wound that must be avenged for Trump. Back in July of 2025, Trump and Powell were touring the buildings at the center of the renovations at the center of the vindictive prosecutions against Powell. Trump, as is his wont, spouted off some numbers that he pulled fresh from his ass about the overruns on the costs. Powell fact checked him in real time in front of reporters, god, and everybody.

Prosecuting the Chair of the Federal Reserve Bank, especially on clearly trumped up charges, tells the world that Trump will not tolerate being contradicted either in policy or in facts. But, it also destroyed the independence of the Fed, which can destroy an economy. As Powell said in his extraordinary public statement about the investigation against him:

This is about whether the Fed will be able to continue to set interest rates based on evidence and economic conditions, or whether instead monetary policy will be directed by political pressure or intimidation

Trump wants interest rates lower to flood the economy with cheap cash. It will overheat the economy creating lots of jobs, but it will also fuel inflation. The economy will seem better, but it will cost us in the long run when we have to rebalance the spending and costs. Of course, Trump is only concerned about what happens now. He doesn’t have a mind for the future.

The Hubris of Prosecuting and Ousting Powell

Prosecuting and ousting Powell is useless because Powell’s term in office is up in May, and Trump will appoint a sycophant to take his place. A couple of extra months of looser monetary policy helps kickstart the economy before the election, but it also achieves Trump’s chief goal of avenging himself on Powell.

The independence of the Fed is the only thing that the oligarchical class actually cares about since they have no hummed their way through all of the other outrages of 2025. It is one of the few things that keeps the economy steady and balanced, which is what is needed instead of political expediency to maximize profits.

We all benefit from a balanced economy with decisions made in what is the best interest of the economy and not in what benefits any one politician or political party in the moment. It is another example of Trump overreaching to mollify his bloated and wounded ego instead of putting the country’s needs before his own.

The Absolute Chaos and Turmoil in the Nation

Between the murder of Renee Good in Minneapolis by an ICE agent, ICE now persecuting American citizens either because of the color of their skin or because we exercise our first amendment rights in their presence, the tariffs driving up prices, runaway increases healthcare premiums, the weapons nation of the DoJ to pursue vindictive prosecutions with unqualified prosecutors, and the cover up of the Epstein files, it is clear that this is a rogue lawless administration more concerned about enriching its members than about running the country. The institutions that have kept us safe and produced the most prosperous nation in the history of the world are being destroyed to serve the corrupt interest of one person.

When you call a Congressional person’s office, they’re likely to have an intern answering the phone to take a message. It’s not like your senator or representative is sitting there waiting for your call. Or, they’re likely to follow the strategy of leaving it on voicemail to discourage you. There are two things that make contacting your members of Congress either better or more sure of success:

Know what you want to say ahead of time. It helps you hit all the points you want to make, be polite, stay on message, be efficient, and are ready for voicemail.

Here’s a model to use or follow:

Hi, my name is [NAME] and I’m a constituent from [STATE and LOCALITY].

I’m calling today to urge you to stand up to Trump over his threats to annex Greenland, destroy the independence of the Federal Reserve System, and the absolute chaos that Trump has unleashed on the country. The purpose of all three are to distract from and delay the release of the Epstein files. All three destabilize the country and the world and none are in the national interest..

It is clear that Trump lacks the morality and self-discipline to do anything other than serves his own narrow interests. It is clearly time to remove Trump from office. It is time to organize a removal based on the 25th Amendment or to impeach and convict him. Either way, Trump needs to be removed from office for the good of the nation.
