The divide between left and right seems to be growing ever wider. We can examine the division using both the sexual harassment accusations and moral foundation theory, but our conclusion questions whether we can bridge the divide at all.
On Thanksgiving, Al Franken offered another written “apology,” which wasn’t an apology, but a cop out. By not owning up to his behavior, he is not providing leadership to help us cope with these recurring accusations of sexual harassment instead he’s following that well worn path of denial.
In order for Al Franken to save his senate seat, he must give a complete accounting for all of his sexual transgressions before another accuser goes public. He’s got to just come clean about it all. And, then maybe he can remain in the senate.
Al Franken’s story really gives some insight into the mind of the groper. And, the reactions of his accusers may help men understand the problem with the groping and sexual harassment.
