SUMMARY: Trump is using Hitler’s Propaganda Playbook to produce as much chaos and controversy around his healthcare policies in order to exploit public fear and confusion and divert public attention from his criminal enterprise. By analyzing the impact of these policies have on the nation, the purpose of deliberately producing the widespread misery and needless suffeing will become clear. The question is will this pain and misery be enough to damage MAGA support for Trump and the GOP.
KEY WORDS: Healthcare Chaos Trump RFK, JR Public Health Measles Misinformation Maslow’s Hierarchy GOP Exploitation
COMMENTS: Is it possible that Trump thinks that undermining the nation’s healthcare system — such as it is — confers some kind of advantage on him?
It’s hard to be working on self-actualization when you’re worried about rats eating your baby at night. That line has stuck with me over the years. I was talking to a Black colleague about New Age sensibilities in the 1980’s, and they were trying to explain to me the difference between white and Black people problems. They were pointing out what Maslow had eighty-odd years earlier with his thoughts on the hierarchy of needs: before you can work on higher order needs, basic needs, like food and shelter have to be met first.
The Erosion of Public Health Spending
As the Felon Reich engages in a witch hunt for woke references in research grant applications and uses criticism — both perceived and actual — as a litmus test for dispersing federal funds, it is clear that the healthcare needs of the country are not going to be addressed. With RFK’s anti-vaccine vanity project, which is now becoming an unhealthy obsessive-paranoid vendetta, a direct assault on the health and welfare of many Americans is well underway. down the research and investment infrastructure of healthcare and science in the States, it will make providing the basic needs of food, water, shelter, and safety for the majority of Americans much more difficult.
With these policies and practices in place, it buggar’s the question of what it is all for? Why would anyone engage in such reckless and destructive behavior? What could they possibly hope to gain from it?
Ye Olde Blogge has frequently predicted that the Orange Ego would attempt to destroy the country and world because of the narcissistic wound inflicted on him by losing the 2020 election, but why would anyone in their right mind go along with such hubris and destruction? Especially considering that we’re in the worst measles outbreaks since the licensing of the measles vaccine in 1963. What motive could Trump, RFK, Jr, or the Republican Party have for inflicting measles on the country?
Using Hitler’s Propaganda Playbook
The answer is rooted in two principles from Hitler’s propaganda playbook, which the GOP has been increasingly relying on.
Cultivate chaos, conflict, and confusion
Rule number one was Cultivate chaos, conflict, and confusion: Keep everyone arguing and fighting over meaningless divisive culture wars and ridiculous policy goals.
With every government contract, grant, and services being part of a larger grift for a criminal enterprise masquerading as a government, it is easy to see how living vaccine-free in a healthcare desert and a minimum wage job would keep you from being able to contemplate the reasons our country has slide into such a hellhole and what role you might could play in helping us escape it. It simply makes it much more difficult for and much less likely that large groups of citizens to organize political resistance to the authoritarian take over of our democracy because too many of us will be too busy pursuing our basic needs to have the time and energy to effectively resist the fascists.
As needlessly cruel as that seems, in our new psychopathocracy our empathyless rulers see no reason not to exploit the pain that such policies would bring about for their own gain. But, it also appeals to another of the plays in the fascist instruction manual.
Exploit Opportunities

Rule number two was Exploit Opportunities: Seize every chance to stir up controversy or create a political maelstrom. It’s easy to see why a true chaos-agent like our Felonious Traitor would be attracted to RFK’s anti-vaccine shtick. In a landscape mired in preventable diseases — echoing the chaos of the #COVID19 pandemic that served him so well — what better way to divert attention from one’s own misdeeds than by promoting misinformation that allows preventable illnesses to sweep through the population? It’s a modern take on the old classic, when you’re beating off alligators, it’s hard to remember the GOP promised to drain the swamp.
While we’re all mired in health crises, grieving the early deaths of our loved ones, and working two jobs and a side gig, we just don’t have the ability to determine what is true and what is fiction or where the vast wealth of the nation has disappeared to.
As the Congressional members of the Grifting Old Party will enrich themselves from insider trading and “donations” from a variety of lobbyists, why are state and local politicians going along with this obviously bankrupt policy? The state and local office holders haven’t even sold their constituents to the oligarchs, they’ve just given them away for the promise of maybe one day being “elected” to an office that will allow them to grift their way to riches.
The only remaining questions that we face are whether the needless wanton pain, misery, and early unnecessary death will break the stranglehold that Trump has over MAGA. They are willing to forego government benefits — only 26.4% of eligible people receive TANF benefits — rather than see them help Communities of Color. Famously, MAGA would rather not have public swimming pools if it meant that they would have to swim with the Blacks. It is not clear to me that losing children to gun violence, opioids, and, now, measles while living in healthcare deserts would be enough.

I can’t help noticing that the damage isn’t just here, and in some ways is even worse across the global south with the virtual elimination of US support for health programs, including vaccinations and HIV prevention and treatment, and food aid. The “First and Worst” principle comes to mind regarding the effects on Black and Brown people everywhere.
So, I ask what is the overarching narrative frame that includes vaccines, cancer research, HIV prevention, cabals of pedophile abusers, and the “fake news mainstream media”, and more, and that has portrayed Trump as the God-sent savior and avenger. Hmmm, I think I just answered my own question.
And in that mode of thinking, I notice that the reported revolt in MAGAland isn’t about vaccines, or cancer research, or cancer alley deregulation, but about a promise unkept to reveal the names of Jeffery Epstein’s partners in crime against little girls, and, indeed, to expose and destroy a global elite of such people.

MAGA was promised that the Epstein files would lock the Clintons and Obamas and the bad elites up. They were promised a pound of flesh and now they are not going to satisfied until they have it. The idea of locking the evil Democrats up in Guantanamo and hauling them out for gruesome executions is just too thrilling and exciting to be easily given up on. They believed it because they wanted it so badly. The disappointment is profound. Astonishingly so given everything else MAGA is willing to ignore and give up on.
I think Trump and the administration are driven by similar impulses that usually overlap, but not always. Trump wants revenge and chaos to cover his grift. Too many others, Stephen Miller especially, are driven by hatreds and racism. He wants revenge, too, but only on certain types of people. Then, there are the grifters out for themselves and them alone It is an unwholesome assemblage. It is bound to alienate someone. The only question is whether they’ve so rigged the elections that it matters any more.

Trump is caught in the trap of having promised something he can never deliver that is based on an article of faith of a cult that adopted him (not the other way around) and cast him in the role of an agent of God in a war of Good V. Evil, against the class of oligarchs and spoiled rich boys to which he belongs. And anything he might be able to deliver is so far less than the imagined conspiracy that he will still be accused of a cover up. This is the one he can’t win. It’s a double bind.
I’ve long seen the conspiracy theories of the type of the secret cabal of rulers of the world, whether it is The Illuminati, The Elders of Zion, or pedophiles of the opposing party, as evidence that real systems thinking is hard. The real oligarchs of the world have no need to conspire. As long as they each pursue their own interests, they tend to appear to be marching in the same direction, supporting the same kinds of politicians, and screwing the little people in the same ways.

You’re right about the lack of need for a conspiracy to rule the world by the oligarch class. They tend to view the world from the same vantage point and understand it in the same way. However, until being elected, I’m not sure that Trump was ever counted in their number.
I think that Trump is fixing to arrest Clinton and Obama to satisfy the base. They were promised that those two especially would be arrested. I don’t think the reason for their arrest matters. I don’t even think it matters that the charges stick. I think arresting Clinton and Obama makes the Epstein controversy go away. You move on to a bigger shinier shiny thing. MAGA has shown that they are not too concerned about details and only focused on satisfying the urges of their ids.
Whatever happens, tomorrow is sure to be worse than today.

Yes, he always hungered to be accepted in that class and was considered crude and lacking in class. Once in, he had to try to be the top dog.
One thing is clear, that given a friendly judge and a MAGA grand Jury panel, he can get an indictment of almost anybody on BS charges. Going after Clinton and Obama would distract from the Epstein uproar. But, if the supposed charges are too fantastical and over blown, it will backfire in some way. He might do better to let Congressional committees investigate and keep coming up with weekly “bombshells”.

Aline Cannon would be only too happy to preside over a kangaroo court for them. And, a grand jury selected out of her jurisdiction would be only too happy to indict. Of course, that assumes that he won’t use some kind of military tribunal with hand-selected MAGA officers sitting in judgment. This could be really ugly, really fast.
His rejection by the upper class of NYC was the original narcissistic wound. He’s been trying to destroy them ever since. Death and destruction are the only things that Trump has been able to consistently create in his lifetime.

There is, in all this, one risk for Trump that his advisors and enablers probably cannot defend him from in the long run, his own Feculant Touch.
He has already begun to set his framing of the Epstein files as a hoax perpetrated by the Democrats and “Libs”. The next step is to call it a witch hunt aimed at him, with all the witnesses, informants, victims, and prosecutors conspiring and lying. He will fold into that the accusations against Obama, and probably bring back Hillary’s emails and Bengazi. Of course, there will be other actors, congressional committees investigating and issuing subpoenas, and the continuing demands to release the files. He will welcome all things that muddy the water. He may let the situation become an investigations forever showtime, delaying any actual public trial, because at trial, the Defense gets to speak, and he does not want to hear that.
There were two interesting items in today’s scrapes, 1 not included in the SCRAPINGS post today:

That Josh Marshall is a pretty smart cookie. He’s on to something, too. MAGA is all about taking down the elites on both sides of the aisle. The GOP has aligned themselves with Trump’s faux populism and “draining” the swamp. Marshall’s point that the pedophilia is beside the point, it is an issue that they can use to bludgeon the elites and drain the swamp with that matters. The interesting thing is that the mass psychosis doesn’t seem to be working for him in this instance. Usually MAGA would be accepting whatever lie du jour Trump chose to tell, but the magic seems to have been drained from that trick. They don’t seem to be willing to accept it.
I’m pretty sure that the connection to Obama and Clinton is the tripping point for MAGA and Epstein. They’re convinced that the human trafficking of the Dems would be exposed by Epstein and that this would be the thing that would send them all to Guantanamo and a messy public execution on barges… as I recall.
I’m surprised that nothing has driven it from the front pages of the media, yet.

I’ve been trying to see how Trump can both distance himself from the sex trafficking and give the rabbit hole dwellers of the base their list of perps that meets their imagination. His instinct is to call the Epstein stuff a hoax and part of the plot by Democrats to take him down, with Epstein and Maxwell cast as innocent collateral damage, with all the victims, witnesses, investigators, prosecutors, grand jurists, and judges as liars and conspirators. But that gives the base the wrong kind of perps. As for the real perps, the list would be missing names they expect to see, include names of some of their heroes, and a lot of names they never heard of. I suspect that that is a circle he can’t square. He would love to see some real perps from NY high society and the financial community go down because of his own narcissistic wounds, which puts him in conflict with just making it all go away. He’s got more than one rock and more than one hard place.
His story told in Scotland about his split with Epstein is interesting, and, I think probably true. The official line from his spokes people is that he kicked Jeffery out of his club because he was “a creep”. Everybody associates that with the sexual stuff, but Donald clarified it, as somebody who sneaks around behind your back and steals from you. That would piss him off that much. Also, it distances him from knowing about the sex stuff.
Then, there’s the stuff that the senator is finding in the bank reports of suspicious transactions. You can’t run a sex business that caters to the most kinky and specific fantasies of the rich (People tend to not understand that such an enterprise doesn’t run on Horney, but on Fantasy.) without connections to organized crime all over the planet, without money laundering, passports, visas, and so on. And, especially in police states like Russia, the organized crime is tolerated conditionally because the security and intelligence services find those capabilities useful on occasion, such as moving money illegally into the political campaigns of other countries, and paying off influencers under the table. It is conceivable that the custodians of the Epstein files and evidence are sitting on a bigger and more disruptive can of worms than just a sex scandal, and they know it.

I think you are on to something when you say that he would love to use the Epstein files to exact revenge on some of the elites. To a narcissist, the Epstein files would provide too much information to be cast aside. He has a way to hurt his enemies and blackmail his friends. I can’t imagine him giving that advantage up without a struggle. And, a steadfast belief in his own perfection and that exceptions will be made for him will keep him believing that he can’t be touched by the information in them.
MAGA, though, having been weaned on conspiracy theories of the human trafficking and satanic behaviors of the Democratic Party aren’t going to give up easily either. This is the moment that Q and all of the rest have promised them. The only thing that could make it more perfect is if John Kennedy would read the list to them in Dallas.
While Trump may have Senate Republicans cowed sufficiently for them to go after Medicaid and approve Boze, he may not find them so pliable when it comes to the monied shenanigans that the files contain. They are all in this to sell American democracy to the highest bidder. Trump is going to have to pay dearly to keep this under wraps.
Just when you think the files are going to get bumped out of prime time coverage, Trump does something to renew interest. No body is going to do the heavy lifting to believe that Trump dumped Epstein because he “stole” employees, i.e. recruited Trump’s underage masseuses into underage prostitution. He’s not going to come off looking the saint by just beating some bushes with his hints and innuendo. And, he’s not going to be able to split the hair of taking the pius road of cutting ties with Epstein when he “discovered” he was trafficking children but never saying anything about it to anyone, especially when Lutnick gave Epstein a sweetheart of a deal and then served in his first cabinet.

One thing is certain, that there are some rather large number of rich and super rich people with expensive lawyers, important friends, and secrets (their own and others’), who want those files buried, burned, shredded, or lost at sea. It occurred to me today that we even have at least two Supreme Court Justices with known histories of sexual harassment, abuse, and assault who have been guests at very fancy and private resorts, that must have nice spas.
On another front, I’m noticing similarity between the way Trump is talking about breaking up with Epstein and how he’s been talking about Putin in the past week or two. For him, as we have long observed, everything, and every relationship is personal, and the tone of disappointment and even betrayal about Putin is of the same class as Epstein and others he has cast out. His recent contradicting of Netanyahu about the reality of starvation in Gaza may point in the same direction. Both Bebe and Putin were supposed to make his promise to end those wars come true, and they never were going to.

Trump DISTRUSTS science, he is governing the U.S., based off of his own beliefs, and despite how there are, the VALID proofs of the illnesses taking over the world right now, he still, stubbornly believes that he’s, correct, this feeds to his, narcissistic, personality characteristics, and naturally, he would, use all who followed HIS values, those who won’t OBJECT to his ideals, because he won’t allow for it, that’s why, education, healthcare, and the economy of the United States are, headed, straight to HELL, under the rule, the reign of TERROR by the Trumpstapo, along with all his, faithful GOONIES including but not limited to Hegseth, McMahon, etc., etc., etc., the children will DIE, because now, there are, those, “ancient” illnesses, plus the newer ones (i.e. CoVid, Monkeypox), and because diseases like chickenpox are already “extinct”, all the working vaccines from way back when are all, DESTROYED, leaving the newly conceived, newborn infants, DEFENSELESS. and that, is how the MAGA CULT will, cause mass scale SUICIDE of the population of the U.S. but hey, look on the bright side, less people means, less pollution, which means, at LEAST, the global warming crisis will get, better.

I’ll give you that Trump’s narcissism means he’s right no matter what. He can’t be bothered with science; he already knows it all. He’s driven by the desire for revenge against all who let him down in 2020, which is everyone. He literally wants to destroy the world. That’s what you’re witnessing.
However, I think smallpox is gone. I don’t think it is coming back unless someone has kept some somewhere and releases it. Measles was on the verge of being eradicated, but MAGA managed to pull it from the jaws of victory.
One thing is for certain, we’re in for an extended period of unnecessary misery and suffering in services of the needs of the few.

Thank you so much for the article on autistic gait. It is endlessly fascinating to me. While differences in gait may not need to be supported, they can be diagnostic, especially for educators and other folks. It adds to information that can be used to help someone.
As for the implementation of disgusting policies and the support that the rest of the word seems to give them, I think it just goes to show that capitalism won’t even try to save itself if its own demise means a greater profit. We can’t rely on the for-profit press to do the right thing. In fact, everyone who is not actively resisting the criminal regime, should be considered as actively colluding with it. There is no middle ground.

I had an interesting experience with Canadian immigration authorities upon arrival, but other than that, it has been smooth sailing. Then again, it’s been three days at the sister-in-law’s house and low expectations for achievement as we get the new house prepared for move in.
I think defeatism is a feature of our would be fascist overlords. When everyday seems worse than the day before, it is easy to start feeling hopeless. No one wants a shooting civil war to break out, really. Nor do we want a rash of political assassinations to sweep the country. But, organizing a mass civil disobedience campaign is hard, especially when the alternative is grousing in a coffee shop shit-posting memes to Bluesky.
It would be nice to have a barnstorming overconfident populist crisscross the country rallying the resistance, but that may be a little too much to expect in our current era. We seem to lack anyone who has a vision for what the world should be like other than the lackeys of the oligarchy, of course. They are very clear about their vision for the world, and it is unfolding in Gaza.
Damn frightful shame that everyone just sits around tsk tsking but doing nothing.
