Can we ever forgive Trump supporters for the needless deaths of 340,000+ deaths, the needless suffering of the #COVID19 pandemic, assaulting our democracy, damaging our national security, and putting us through such hell for four years all for the sake of Trump’s ego? We should forgive anyone who can fulfill the four-parts of an effective apology.
On Thanksgiving, Al Franken offered another written “apology,” which wasn’t an apology, but a cop out. By not owning up to his behavior, he is not providing leadership to help us cope with these recurring accusations of sexual harassment instead he’s following that well worn path of denial.
In order for Al Franken to save his senate seat, he must give a complete accounting for all of his sexual transgressions before another accuser goes public. He’s got to just come clean about it all. And, then maybe he can remain in the senate.
#MeToo is simply the start of a long over due processes to help men comprehend (a) the scope of the problem (b) how severely harmed women are (c) the number of men offending (d) that he has probably offended in his life and (e) men need to act to stop the epidemic.
Twitter is fast. It is measured in seconds, the speed of the internet link. I stumbled through being misunderstood and told about it on the twitter today and I’ve had some thoughts. Spoiler: liberals are nicer than you think.
In light of the appalling week we’ve had in racism, white people need to ask for forgiveness, apologize, confront racism within themselves, and not let racially insensitive comments and actions pass. White people need to work towards ending racism.
