Reading Time: 5 minutes (but heavily divided by headings so you can find the information you want fast!)
If it’s Sunday, it’s time to dust off and update your list of issues to call your MoC about. If you find it as confusing as I do to keep up with the multitude of issues that pour through my social media and across my screen, then maybe this list of five super important issues will be helpful
Let me explain to you how the second Democratic presidential primary debate, day 2 is a microcosm for all that is wrong in America today. No really. You’ll want to read this one. It’s good. I make predictions and everything.
Due to unforeseen circumstances tonight’s live blogging of the live debate has been cancelled. We’ll resume our regularly schedule erratic schedule of posting once we’ve arrived safely back in China.
The best thing about Day 1 of the second Dem presidential primary debate is that it uncorked a pent-up snark stream of sarcastic and profane observations. I make predictions about the future of the candidates and report to you what I found to be important.
Day 1 of the second Democratic Primary Debate is a wrap. It was spicy and feisty, but substantial. There were lines — I wrote the damn bill! Why do people run for president to say what we can’t do?
Here is my blow by blow. I’ll be writing up impressions in a separate post.
Your weekly MoC call list is a doozy! It is chock-a-block full of follow-up to the Mueller Congressional testimony, impeachment inquiry demands, and protecting our elections. There are also updates on past issues, a bonus issue that you won’t believe, and contacts for Indivisible.
What to make of Mueller’s testimony? Will it help? Will it hurt? Will it not matter? How will people react? Well, psychology has something to say about it all… and it’s better news than you think!
Things perked up slightly in the Intelligence Committee than they were in the Judiciary. Go figure. Maybe everyone’s coffee had kicked in. You may not agree with my characterization, but I stand by my post. The only remaining question is whether the Dems are adept enough to build on the foundation that they laid or whether the foundation they laid is sufficient to build upon.
What to make of Mueller’s testimony? Does he secretly hate the US? Love the Ol’ Pussy Grabber? Is he more partisan than he appears? Or is he such a starched-shirt that he can just not ever be anything other than a by the book prosecutor?
Do your part to improve conditions in the US. Keep a list of issues to contact your MoC about and call them every week! It is the single most effective way of impacting our government. Here’s my list for this week. Feel free to add to it in the comments. And, let us know how your call went!
By chanting “send her back” every attendee at Trump’s campaign rally in North Carolina has branded him or herself as a racist fascist. Make no mistake, there is a dangerous escalation of the fascist tendencies of the GOP.
There are important issues, bills, amendments, and hearings before Congress every week! And, if the Great Civics Lesson has taught us anything, it has taught us that it is our civic duty to be INVOLVED in each and every one of them. And the rate at which this admin sows confusion, chaos, and consternation means that you gotta call every week and work your ass off to keep that call list current. Use this weekly post to help.
Calling your very own member of Congress is easy! It’s fun! And, it is the most effective way to influence our government! But, keeping up with all those issues and bills and hearings and stuff is not. So, here’s a handy-dandy do-it-yourself guide to help out, and my top five issues that I’m contacting my member of Congress about this week! It’s now a weekly post on Ye Olde Blogge! Look for it every Sunday!
In our ongoing sometimes series, Fascification WATCH in which Ye Olde Blogge documents our seemingly irrevocable slide into fascism. Today’s issue: the threat to put the citizenship question on the census in spite of a Supreme Court decision preventing it.
This is the inaugural post of a frequent yet irregularly appearing new feature called the Fascification WATCH in which I document the signs and symptoms of the increasing fascism of our politics and government.
Now that the end of the first Democratic presidential debate has finally ended after two days and 20 candidates and five moderators, how can we possibly know who won? We can’t say who won, but we can predict who benefited.
The Dems presidential candidates were debating on day 2 of their first debate. It was Rock ‘Em, Sock ‘Em Robots for much of the debate. There is but one question, though, who won? Get the psysplainer for how to interpret the outcome of day 2’s debate!
The first debate of Election 2020 is in the bag, or at least the first day and the first 10 are. So, who “won” from the first ten? How do we know?
It’s another American presidential election, which started more than 18 months before the actual election! American politics are crazy. But, the Dems are debating tonight and we all wanna know who won, who zung, who clung, who hung. I’ll be live-blogging the debate as it is live-streamed in Paris at 3:00 AM. Join me here for a snarky, sarcasticky, profaney good time as we all watch together!
With so many desperate issues swirling in the ether, air waves, and news cycle, I thought it useful to create a post with information on contacting your folks in Congress , so you can do your civic duty.
